FIFA squad members are under exams period but we are getting back on track into our regular activity level. Aside from the 5on5 games our players are vivedly playing in 1on1 tournaments, such as GeIL Football (http://www.geil-challenge.com)

xlo^peste reached this sunday the 2º place at GeIL Football Cup #13, prize money 100 euros for the first place. Their cup series are very well knowned in the FIFA Community thus the skill level is high.

A first place is always a great thing, but a palm on the back saying “good job” when a second place is conquer is also nice, so well played   xlo^peste.
His path was:
Round 1 -> 2  vs 0  Freilos
Round 2 -> 1 vs 0 Andrey
Round 3 -> 4 vs 2 Petrit Ademi
Round 4 -> 3 vs 2 Adiifrach
Round 5 -> 2 vs 0 Marc Schinke
Round 6 -> 5 vs 0 Kuba
Grand Final -> 1 vs 4 Machiavelli

There is a lan party, XL Party, in Portugal this month. At the moment our portuguese players are figuring out if they can attend it. The prizes are usually very good but for this edition they are a little “low”. Only the first place is well packed, normally 2 to 5 place are medium/high.

Durante o mês de Março vamos apurar o ou os representantes portugueses na EMS IV FIFA 09 1on1. Como o prazo para divulgarmos os vencedores é 31 de Março 2009 optamos por elaborar uma Cup com 32 slots que engloba uma Bracket Winners e uma Losers.

As inscrições estão abertas a partir de agora e acabam dia 16/03/09 as 23:30 horas de Portugal. A ordem de chegada é o critério utilizado para aceitação.

Desde já alerto para um conjunto de regras especificas (ponto 13), das quais saliento:

13.1. Wildcard
Cada jogador tem a possibilidade de utilizar 1 wildcard.
O wildcard permite o adiamento da partida e deve ser apresentado com 24 horas de antecedência. Caso seja apresentado após este período o jogador recebe 1 ponto de penalidade.

Não é permitido apresentar um wilcard após a respectiva data da partida, suponhamos: o encontro é as 22:30 no dia 18/03/2009
Não é possível apresentar o wildcard após as 22:30 do dia 18 de Março de 209.

13.2. Formato dos encontros
O formato segue a regra 10 (melhor de 3 partidas).

Contudo relembramos a seguinte nota:
O host tem opção de escolher EASO ou IP Directo.
Caso o jogador não consiga hostar começa todas as partidas com um golo de desvantagem. O outro jogador hosta todas as partidas. Em caso de empate ao minuto 90 é obrigatório jogar o prolongamento e se necessário penaltis.

: Grande Final
Segue a regra 10.
O jogador que venha da lower bracket tem de vencer o jogador da winner bracket duas vezes. Por outras palavras, tem de lhe vencer 2 confrontos a melhor de 3 para ser o vencedor. O jogador da winner bracket apenas tem de vencer um confronto a melhor de 3.

13.3. Replays das partidas
Todos os replays que sejam utilizados em protestos devem ser colocados na página da partida. O replay deve ser o originado pelo SoccerBot, a ESL faz stream da partida através do ficheiro.

Ora vivas pessoal do FIFA. É verdade o Fifazone.org tem estado num estado de hibernação mas isso não significa que o blog fechou, nada disso.

Como devem compreender há alturas em que temos menos tempo, ou a vontade de blogar é menor ou por vezes não há coisas interessantes para escrever sobre.

Com a chega da ESL Major Series IV no formato 5on5 e 1on1, as Cups semanais da ESL Portugal, os torneios feitos pelos Excello (Slappa.com), pela Zotac, torneios do RespiraFutebol nas consolas PS3 e/ou XBox 360 o cenário começa a compor-se e isso leva-me a ter vontade de dar umas marteladas no meu teclado.

Por vezes lançam patches interessantes para o FIFA 09 embora sejam mais na vertente offline. Como parto do princípio que uma parte dos visitantes jogam mais offline do que online vou tentar cobrir um pouco este tipo de informação.

O Fórum foi desactivado, não creio que valha a pena pois não tinha actividade. Vou criar um opção de Newsletter aqui no blog para podem receber confortavalmente no email os títulos das noticias colocadas aqui.

SteelSeries Challenge consists in an Online FIFA 09 PC tournament and it´s divided in two parts:

• Part One
  An All Star Tournament were we invited some of the best fifa players. Actually I want to say thank you to the ones that answered our call, LLL^BlooD, iGn|denkor, neXt`PuPuc1, PGS|KarteKpL, PinCho.EA|Yozhyk or FG-T__N__T among others.
• Part Two
  It´s based on a series of Cups were each one gives points to the top placed players. There will be 3 Cups and in the end the top 4 players will play a Grand Final. This means if you don´t win the #1 Cup you can still manage your way into the prizes (SteelSeries hardware valued in +- 200 euros total).
  Each Saturday in February, starting, 14/02, we will have a cup. More information in the following days.

About the SteelSeries All Star Tournament

As I stated this is a somewhat private tournament but some players were able to enter as well. With 32 players to battle where each round has the following format:

Two games, if possible both host one game if not talk to the admins so we can decide who host two times.

Match one: Player A 2-0 Player B
Match two: Player A 3-0 Player B
Final score -> Player A 5-0 Player B
So the final score is the sum of both games.
If after the second game there is a draw in goals then a sudden match is played, this means golden goal.

And the goodies now:
-> 1º Place – SteelSeries 5H v2 USB
-> 2º Place – SteelSeries Ikari Laser
-> 3º Place – SteelSeries 5L (Gaming surface)

One thing we ask, if you are playing Quarter-Finals and so on do save the game replay, not the demorec, the FIFA replay itself.

About the Schedule:
All players are already checked in so if you can´t show up please write a comment so we can try and replace you.

Round 1 (32 players) – 14:00 CET
Round 2 (16 players) – 15:00 CET
Round 3 (8 players) – 16:00  CET
Round 4 (4 players) – 17:00 CET
Round 5 ( Final + third place ) – 18:00 CET

Please be professional and have fair play so we don´t face any delay in the tournament.
